New Delhi, December 6
The Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday extedned their support to the 'Bharat Bandh' called on December 8 by farmer unions against the new agri-marketing laws.

The Congress announced that it would hold protests that day at all district and state headquarters in solidarity with the demands of the farmers.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener, Arvind Kejriwal said all AAP workers across the country will support the nationwide strike and appealed to all citizens to support the farmers.

Meanwhile, Opposition leaders from several parties, including the Congress, the DMK, the RJD, the Samajwadi Party, the newly-minted People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration in J&K, and a collection of Left outfits, have issued a joint statement in support of Tuesday's "Bharat bandh", which has been called for by the thousands of farmers protesting against the centre's contentious new farm laws.
