Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and MLAs Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Principal Badhram on Tuesday said that Capt. Amarinder Singh was indulging in skulduggery with the farmers by unsuccessfully trying to torpedo the struggle of the farmers fighting a battle for survival, asserting that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won’t allow them to succeed in his evil designs.
In a joint statement issued from party headquarters in Chandigarh here, Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Principal Budhram said that the Punjab government was repeatedly stating that there was an acute shortage of the essential commodities due to the farmers' Rail Roko’ call, saying the coal in thermal plants in Punjab w would run out in two days. They fired a salvo to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh “What pre-empting step your government took before the farmers' organizations had announced their agitation calendar months ago and threatened to intensify the stir giving a 'Rail Roko’ call.”
Kultar Singh Sandhwan said “If Capt. Amarinder Singh was a true benefactor of Punjab and the farmers, he would have taken care of all the essentials well before the farmers' “Rail Roko’ agitation. It is unfortunately that Capt. Amarinder Singh has totally failed in running the government the way he should have. He should immediately step down as the Chief Minister.”
Sandhwan further said that now that the farmers' organizations were struggling hard for survival by exhibiting their strength, Captain Amarinder Singh had been indulging in dirty politics only to create a wedge between the people of Punjab and the farmers to sabotage the stir.
Principal Budh Ram on the occasion said that if the situation was as alarming as Capt. Amarinder Singh being repeatedly stated by issuing statement after statement, he should immediately convene a special session of Vidhan Sabha and take an all party delegation to meet the Prime Minister in Delhi for a viable solution to the imbroglio arising out of the three contentious farm laws. He reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party had been reminding him (Chief Minister), who was now saying the coal in the thermal plants would run short.
Principal Budh Ram added that, like the Badals, Captain Amarinder Singh was acting as a mere puppet in the hands of the Modi government at the centre. The AAP leader him of clearing the passage of the black laws as CM Amarinder Singh and Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal were an integral part of the Committee that was constituted for the purpose by the Union government.
