Chandigarh, October 8
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, extended his whole-hearted support to the ‘Chakka Jam” call given by the Sant Samaj Sangharsh Committee and other SC organizations on October 10 (From 10 am to 1 pm) to buy justice for a large number of poor and dalit students in the state. He said this while addressing a press conference in Chandigarh here on Thursday. Others who were who were conspicuous by their presence were Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Master Baldev Singh Jaito, Rupinder Kaur Ruby (All MLAs).
Harpal Singh Cheema said that what could be a more slanderous than the tainted Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, allegedly involved in the multi-crore post matric scholarship scam, was roaming free after allegedly committing a multi-crore scam. He expressed his deep shock that such a Minister, who should have been sacked by now the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh from the Cabinet and sent behind the bars, was being protected by the chief minister.
Cheema said that the anti-Dalit government led by Raja Amarinder Singh was neither expelling Dharamsot from the Council of Minister nor was getting the entire scam probed, which clearly indicated that the ill-gotten money had gone to the Siswan Farmhouse. He said that such unscrupulous ministers were behind ruining the future of more than nine lakh poor children belonging to the dalit community. He said if CM Raja Amarinder had a little grace left, he should immediately resign as Chief Minister of the state.
The LoP said that on Thursday when all AAP MLAs protested against giving a 'clean chit' to his Cabinet colleague Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, allegedly involved in the multi-crore Post Matric Scholarship Scheme and were on way to besiege Raja Amarinder Singh’s Siswan Farmhouse they were taken into police custody, which was suggestive of the fact that he was trying to save Dharamsot.
