Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, MLA Faridkot and political adviser to the chief minister Punjab flagged off a new ambulance with advanced life support system, including ventilator, ECG and oxygen cylinder on Tuesday.

“The state hospitals have provided 77 advanced ambulances so that the patients in critical condition can be shifted to other hospitals with advanced treatment during Covid-19. Earlier, as the facility of providing life support system in common ambulances was not there, the people found it very difficult to shift the critical patients to other hospitals, so the state government, under Mission Fateh, has provided 77 such ambulances which are fully equipped with ventilators, oxygen cylinders and Electrocardiogram(ECG), said Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon during the flagging off ceremony of the Ambulance.

Dr Rajinder Kumar, civil surgeon Faridkot thanked Dhillon for providing the trained staff and the ambulance to the district hospital.

The social organization in Faridkot have been raising their voice against the non availability of the Ambulances equipped with the automatic ventilator. In case of the emergency, most of the critical patients had to be shifted to remote areas like Ludhiana, Bathinda or Chandigarh without mechanical ventilators system. The attendants of the patients have to use manual ventilators. But now the time will tell only if the new ambulance caters to the needs of the locals satisfactory or it also fails to come up to their expectations.

The shifting of the critical patients is common from Faridkot as it has GGS medical college which receives most of the referral cases from government hospitals in the region which are in turn referred to Ludhiana mostly.
